Celebrating 11 Years of Friendship and Impact:

In 2015, we had the joy of welcoming a wonderful group of sponsors from the United Kingdom to our school. What began as a sponsorship relationship quickly blossomed into something far greater—a genuine friendship built on trust, compassion, and a shared commitment to transforming lives.

During their visit, our guests spent quality time with our learners, staff, and community members, gaining a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing children growing up in Nairobi’s informal settlements. Together, we shared memorable moments, inspiring conversations, and experiences that strengthened the bond between us.

One of the highlights of their visit was exploring some of Kenya’s incredible wildlife attractions, including the famous Giraffe Centre in Nairobi, where unforgettable encounters with these gentle giants created lasting memories for everyone involved. The visit also included tours of other wildlife parks and reservations, showcasing the beauty and richness of our country.

Today, eleven years later, we look back with deep gratitude. Those visitors are no longer simply sponsors—they have become true Friends of Welicar. Through their unwavering encouragement, generosity, prayers, and continued support, hundreds of vulnerable children have been given access to education, mentorship, meals, and hope for a brighter future.
